"...at the heart of helping."

Tis the Season to Celebrate Giving!

Join us on Facebook on Giving Tuesday (Tuesday, November 28) and throughout the holiday season to help us celebrate giving!

It's easy! Follow the steps below to share how or why you...

heart bullet GIVE your time as a volunteer

heart bullet GIVE back to the community

heart bullet GIVE people opportunities to learn and grow

heart bullet GIVE food and educational supplies to those in need

heart bullet GIVE onetary support to the charity of your choice

I give my time...Here's how to share how or why you give:

  • Download and print one of these signs, depending on what you want to share:

heart bullet I volunteer...

heart bullet I make a difference...

heart bullet I give my time...

heart bullet I give...

  • Use a thick/bold marker to add your own statement of how OR why you "volunteer," "make a difference," "give your time" or "give" on the printed sign (see our example to the right).

  • Take a selfie holding the sign OR ask someone to take a photo of you holding the sign.

  • Post that photo on Facebook with a personalized message, including the text #AtTheHeartOfHelping in the message/text portion of the post. You can post it:

  • On your own Facebook wall and tag the Volunteer Center South Bay-Harbor-Long Beach in the post
(Note: more people will see your post if you change the privacy settings for that post to "Public")
  • If your company will allow it, ask them to post the photo of you and/or your colleagues to your company's corporate Facebook page, using the hashtag above and tagging our page. This is a great way for your company to show how their employees give back to the community!
  • If you post your photo on Facebook on Giving Tuesday, you can also add the text #GivingTuesday in the message/text portion of the post!

Please note: We may also share the photos you post as well, spotlighting you and the ways you give back to the community.
